Awesome Walks Terms & Conditions
Booking and payments
We require a 50% deposit per person to confirm each booking – the booking is not secured until this is received. Payment by credit card (a 2.5% credit card payment surcharge will be applied) or direct debit into our bank account.
On receipt of the deposit, we’ll email you confirming both the payment and the booking details.
The remaining balance will be due on arrival.
Bookings made online within 48 hours of arrival will not be confirmed immediately. Once we have agreement from the campsite that the booking can be honoured, we’ll let you know and confirm the booking and the deposit receipt.
A booking can be cancelled 8 weeks in advance with a 90% refund.
Cancellation within 4 to 8 weeks prior to arrival date will result in a 50% refund of the deposit paid.
Cancellation less than 4 weeks of your arrival date will result in a 100% forfeit of the deposit.
Check-In and Check-Out Times
Your accommodation will be ready from 2pm and we ask that you vacate your accommodation by 10am on the day of departure.
If you arrive earlier or wish to leave later, we are able to store your luggage for you before or after those times and advise you of a range of things to do around the property.
Safety and Hazards
Campsites are situated in the bush at Wharerangi and on the Regional Parks and there are hazards both natural and man-made. You accept that you enter the property at your own risk to participate in a tramping/hiking holiday.
Walking through the Reginal Park is the responsibility of the guest and is done so at their own risk.
Awesome Walks accept no liability for accident, loss of property or personal injury whilst on your stay.
No pets are allowed.
GST of 15% (where applicable) is included in the daily per night cost. We’ll provide a GST invoice if requested.
Conditions of Occupancy and Conduct
Our guests have the right to occupy the property for the paid holiday period only.
Guests are required to observe the rules and familiarise themselves with the procedures contained in the information leaflets provided or described in the briefing at the start of their stay.
Guests shall take all reasonable and proper care of the property and its furniture, fittings and effects and leave them in the same state of repair, condition, cleanliness and tidiness as at the start of the stay.
Guests are required to inform the owners of any damage or breakage in or around the property promptly so that it can be repaired and replaced for the next guests. Guests are bound to reimburse the owners for replacement, repair or extra cleaning costs where reasonably demanded by the owners for damage caused by the guests.
Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property or in the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park.
Guests undertake to behave in a proper, appropriate and legal manner with due respect to the property and other guests and their property. If any guest behaves illegally, inappropriately or improperly (of which Awesome Walks management will be the final judge), Awesome Walks reserves the right to ask the guest and their party (at their discretion) to leave the property before the end of the holiday period. Any refund for so doing will be at the entire discretion of the Awesome Walks management.
Authority to Sign
The person who completes the Booking Form certifies that:
- he or she is authorised to agree the Booking Conditions on behalf of all persons included in the Booking Form, including those substituted or added at a later date
- the signatory is over eighteen years of age
- they agree to take responsibility for the party occupying the Property
- they agree to notify Awesome Walks if they are not a member of the holiday party.
